Third Bon Vivant Party a Big Success!

To all of our friends and families, just wanted to say "thank you" for joining us at our Bon Vivant Island Club Party! Quoting many, many of our people, "we haven't had a party like that in years!" The atmosphere was so comfortable, and everyone was so much at ease and enjoying the 4 Fs---family, friends, food, and fun! It was a perfect mix of food, music, and merriment.

So many individuals went up and personally thanked the band for digging into the archives and playing such songs as "Hold him, Joe, mey donkey want water," followed by a medley of "Brown Skin Girl, Maryann, and Shake, Shake, Shake Sonora." The music just seemed to get better as the evening went on. In fact, everyone was having such a fantastic time, no one wanted to leave, and the band threw in an extra half hour of music. Several people also bought the band's CDs.

The raffle of the cruise was so successful, we are planning another one for next year. The food was absolutely delicious. I am only sorry for those of you who couldn't attend. We missed you, but more importantly, "you missed the party of the year!" The winner of the cruise was Laura Jeffcoat of South Carolina, who bought the ticket from friend and club treasurer Joan Andrusko.

Regis and Kelly did their best to entertain the crowd, and both evenings were just magnificient!

Next year, our party will be held in Daytona Beach (the world's most famous beach) on June 5th and 6th, 2009. Location to be announced at a later date.

Since Mary Berry, our current vice president assists Bob with photography, we have a new vice president, Mrs. Lucette LaPlace. The audience kept the other current officers, Uranie Blanchard, Joan Andrusko, Gloria Feinauer, Sue Blanchard and Monica Stevens, and, of course, Bob and Mary Berry. Lucette has been with us since the start of our original party many years ago, and she is a very talented lady. She has terrific ideas and her decoration abilities are boundless. We just love having Lucette join us.

A quick thank you to Geraldine Blanchard, Louis (Regis) and Nancy LaPlace, Yvonne Perez, Lucette LaPlace, Andy Andrusko, Harry and Josefa Quetel, Rich Feinauer, and the officers of the club already mentioned above.

This is just a quick note to let your know the events of the two evenings. Gloria (Kelly) will be on vacation the last 2 weeks in July-August so the newsletter will be a bit late.
